The Thin Sound of Silence

On Mount Carmel Elijah boldy defended the faith. But now Elijah is on a different mountain. He is alone, afraid and depressed. He stood and watched as a wind passed by, the ground shook with an earthquake and a fire blazed. But God was not in any of these. Instead God came to Elijah in a still small voice – a voice like the thin sound of silence.
God recommisioned Elijah and give him work to do. God also gave him a companion – Elisha. God is understanding of our human frailty and condition. Even in those moments when we falter in our faith, God looks at us with love and compassion.
We can always cast all of our burdens on Him.
And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:13
