This talk is Peter’s final in the series exploring the Gospel according to Romans. In Romans chapters 12 to 16, Paul challenges us to engage in relational love – love for God, and love for others.
The recipe is:
Be a loyal citizen of your country
Be a loving neighbour
Treat others with respect – refrain from judgement
Do not by your actions cause others to stumble
Bear the burdens of one another
Be united in God
[Let your] love be sincere (a real thing); hate what is evil [loathe all ungodliness, turn in horror from wickedness], but hold fast to that which is good.
Love one another with brotherly affection [as members of one family], giving precedence and showing honor to one another.
