But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God, from that time waiting till His enemies are made His footstool. For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified. Hebrews 10:12-14
Ever since the first sin in the garden of Eden, humans have had to sacrifice the life of an innocent animal to pay the penalty of sin. Then came a single sacrifice that put an end to all further sacrifices. We may be sinners, but the sacrifice of Jesus dying on the cross only needed to be done once. Humanity had finally be saved once and for all.
Jesus sacrifice saves us, and makes us holy. It also shows us our immense value to God, in that He was willing to give His Son to save us each individually. All we have to do is accept His sacrifice. To do that we die daily to ourselves, and our own selfish desires. Because of Jesus death for us, we can have confidence in him to save us.
