Why Hasn’t He Come Back?
Who has the heart? With whom are our thoughts? Of whom do we love to converse? Who has our warmest affections and our best energies? If we are Christ’s, our thoughts are with Him, and our sweetest thoughts are of Him. All we have and are is consecrated to Him. The world can only see God by the demonstration of His character in our own lives. This can only be achieved if we surrender our own wills to God, and let His power change us. We can only be changed if we really know God. We can only really know God by spending time with Him in Bible study and prayer. If we do, the longing of our heart will be to share His love with everyone around us.
If you extend your soul to the hungry
And satisfy the afflicted soul,
Then your light shall dawn in the darkness,
And your darkness shall be as the noonday.
The Lord will guide you continually,
And satisfy your soul in drought,
And strengthen your bones;
You shall be like a watered garden,
And like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.
