At the well of Jacob in Samaria, a local woman drawing water encounters a tired and thirsty Jesus. Their conversation summarizes for us the mission of Christ and the heart of the gospel: that neither social situation or professed religion matter at all to Jesus. When we encounter Jesus daily in study and in prayer, through His strength we will learn to worship in spirit and in truth.
