Jesus’ disciples couldn’t understand the reason for their failure. Although they previously had cast out a demons, in the case of this boy, they were unsuccessful. They were no longer depending fully upon Godand their loss of power reflected this. We too can become self-sufficient and stop depending on God, and as a result lose our faith.
It is only by immersing myself in the love of God that my faith will grow. God will always answer when we pray: Lord, I believe. Help my unbelief.
So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Romans 10:17
