What do you have in your hand?

Insane and untameable, banished from his town and living among the tombs, the demoniac spied Jesus alighting his boat.  Within his mind fogged by a legion of demons, the man knew Jesus could save him, so he ran to Him and worshipped.  The legion of demons that had held him captive knew that they were up against a stronger power and begged to be allowed to enter a herd of pigs – which Jesus permitted.  The swine immediately stampeded, ran off a cliff and drowned in the sea. This exhibition of power in freeing the man, and in the destruction of two thousand pigs scared the townspeople who begged Jesus to leave. Unable therefore to minister to the people, He sent the man he had just freed from the power of the devil back home to tell his story. Jesus can use broken people to heal broken people. How can Jesus use you?

“Go home to your friends, and tell them what great things the Lord has done for you, and how He has had compassion on you.” And he departed and began to proclaim in Decapolis all that Jesus had done for him; and all marvelled.  Mark 5:19-20
