Lessons from the Leper

He was the commander of the armies of Ben-Hadad ll, the king of Aram-Damascus around the year 845 BC. He also had leprosy, a disease without a cure. A young Israelite slave girl gave him a glimpse of hope and told him of a prophet of God who may be able to heal him. Naaman made the journey, overcame his pride and found his cure.

We may not be a leper, but we are all sick with the leprosy of sin. We are all in need of a cure. The cure we need doesn’t come from hospitals and doctors,, vaccines, pills or bandages. The cure comes from Jesus. We all have need of the great physician…Jesus. He is the only one who can heal us.

Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities, The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed. Isaiah 53:4-5
